A tool to fix common KML file issues

We built a tool to automate the repair common KML file issues that can block job processing and parsing by GIS applications.

The ORCaS KML Fixer will attempt to parse and rebuild any KML file in a clean, standardized format with simple polygon boundaries. It solves the problem of KML files produced with mixed data types or with multiple disconnected line strings, which many GIS applications have trouble parsing.

Try the KML Fixer for any KML/KMZ file that doesn’t correctly render your project boundary in our online tools. Our automated system will email a rebuilt KML file within a few minutes.

The KML Fixer is often effective with the default settings, but also offers advance options to specify distances between segment groups, and alternative “merge” approaches. With challenging files, tuning these advanced options can yield the desired boundary specification while avoiding the time and effort required to manually retrace the project boundary.
